The expeditions continue... this time Nic and I went off to Croatia to go sailing for a week. The sun was shining the weather was warm (unlike cold and wet London) so life was good!!! All in all a fantastic trip where I have made some lifelong friends - Linda and Sandra (also fellow aussies living in London). We ate loads of fresh seafood and swam constantly! I had an amazing tan by the end of the week but I must admit it has gone to waste in London and the warmth and sunshine of Croatia are now a great memory. But here is a snapshot of the week.
We flew into Dubrovnik to spend our first night on the boat. We had a few drinks the first night, got to know people on the boat and I had my first sight of Dubrovnik's old town - I was looking forward to exploring Dubrovnik more on our return.
The next morning we set off bright and early heading towards the island of Korcula for the night. Each day mainly consisted of sunbaking on deck while we motored (rather than sailed) along... We also generally stopped once or twice for swimming from the boat - absolutely amazing water.
So here's some pics from Korcula...
Night 3 - Hvar .... time to party!!! Hvar was the biggest and liveliest island we visited during the week and it did not disappoint. We spent the afternoon exploring (and eating icecreams). We walked up to a castle for some spectacular views and also experienced an amazing sunset. Followed by drinks and great food!
Night 4 and it was time to visit Trstenik island... a very tiny island with a population of approx 100 in the town we visited. Needless to say it was a rather quiet night (which was good recovery from the prior night). We had some fantastic seafood, good wine and met some people from other boats also joining us in Trstenik for the night. Very pretty spot ... just very quiet too!

The next day was action packed! We headed to the island of Mljet where us girls (Me, Nic, Linda and Sandra) hired bikes for the day and headed off to national park around the inland lakes. Lots of laughs and lots of swimming!
