Welcome to London

Well I have finally arrived in London and set up my blog for everyone to follow my many travels... well its actually been 5wks since I arrived (16th January) however I have been a bit slack getting this set up.

So a quick update on whats been happening since I arrived. Well I was staying in Hyde Park when I arrived but quickly found a flat in lovely Notting Hill right on the famous Portobello Rd markets (very cool!). My flatmate Hannah is lovely (and an aussie as well - can't get away from them here :) It snowed the day I moved into my new flat and snowed for a day and a half which led to a snow day off work as the tubes shut down. Yay! So went to Hyde Park and saw all the snowmen etc... so many happy faces!

My only daytrip so far was to Bodiam Castle and Hastings... The beach at Hastings doesn't quite compare to the beaches at home. Considering it was freezing cold (circa 4 degrees), grey and the beach had pebbles instead of sand it doesn't quite compare. It was a great day though with lots of fun and giggles with the girls Nic and Lisl.

Apart from that there has been lots of exploring around london, lots and lots of shopping (it is awesome here!) and lots of pub lunches and of course wine! Also went to a rugby game yesterday with Sandi-Rae, a friend from high school. We saw Harlequinns v Gloucester which was lots of fun.

I'm off to Austria skiing for the first time next weekend so i'm sure my next post will follow on my return. I'm very excited and am all kitted out now so at least i will look the part even though i can't ski :)
